The Israel–Hamas conflict continues to escalate as peace agreement struggle to hold. Qatar, Egypt, and Türkiye, together with the United States, have been attempting to mediate the conflict, leading to both Israel and Hamas agreeing to the first phase of a Peace Plan which includes a ceasefire. Among the outcomes were the 20-point Gaza Peace Plan and a joint Egypt–Qatar–Türkiye–US statement on Gaza signed in October. However, the ceasefire lasted only a few days before the truce was broken again, and accusations and violence have continued.

This session will share updates and insights on the Israel–Palestine conflict while highlighting Indonesia’s efforts to contribute to the peace process—from being an active voice for Palestine on the global stage to sending peacekeeping troops to Gaza. The discussion will explore the prospects of achieving a durable ceasefire and two-state solution, the progress of the Peace Plan, insights into domestic political dynamics, the ‘Trump effect’, the shifting global stance, and the ways forward for Indonesia’s diplomacy on Gaza.
