Opening Plenary & Launching of 1000 Creative Diaspora

The Opening Plenary sets the stage for the conference with the Big Theme: “Preparing for the Next World Order: Indonesia, the Global South, and the West.”

The session will feature Foreign Policy Aspirations from FPCI Chapters across Indonesia, capturing the hopes and perspectives of young Indonesians on the country’s future foreign policy direction.

Dr. Dino Patti Djalal, Chairman and Founder of FPCI, will deliver special opening remarks, followed by the official launch of the 1000 Creative Diaspora (Diaspora Kreatif) initiative—a collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy and the Indonesian Diaspora Network (IDN) Global. This platform will serve as a strategic hub for recognition, collaboration, and policy engagement, reinforcing Indonesia’s creative presence on the global stage.

In 2024, Indonesia’s global diaspora surpassed 4 million people, many of whom play vital roles in the creative economy across art, design, film, music, architecture, digital media, and culinary arts. To harness and elevate this global talent, the Ministry of Creative Economy of Indonesia and IDN Global have launched the 1000 Creative Diaspora initiative—an effort to identify, connect, and empower Indonesian creatives worldwide while strengthening Indonesia’s cultural diplomacy and international image. More than a database, the initiative establishes a dynamic platform that registers, maps, and activates creative professionals as part of a collaborative ecosystem linking global expertise with Indonesia’s industries, academic institutions, and policymakers, managed jointly by the Ministry and IDN Global.
